ECG Cases: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-14

ECG Cases ("the app") is a study app for practising ECG interpretation, made by Gnurt. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app. In short: the app has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it does not send your data to us.

Data the app keeps on your phone

This data stays in the app's own storage on your phone. We do not have a server for this app and we never receive any of it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the phone's settings, deletes it.

Purchases

If you buy ECG Cases Pro, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy. The app only asks Google Play whether the purchase exists on your account. We do not receive your payment details.

The ECG recordings

The recordings shown in the app come from the public research datasets PTB-XL and PTB-XL+ on PhysioNet, which were anonymised by their authors before publication. They are part of the app and contain no information about you.

What we do not do

Not medical advice

ECG Cases is a study aid. It is not a medical device, it does not interpret your own ECG and it does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Children

The app is meant for students and health professionals. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, for example when a feature is added, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
