Satellite Finder: Privacy Policy

Satellite Finder ("the app") is made by Gnurt. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the app. In short: the app has no account, no ads and no analytics, and it does not send your data to us.

Data the app uses on your phone

• Location. With your permission, the app reads your position from the phone's GPS to work out where to point your dish. You can also type a position instead. The position is stored only on your phone so that the app remembers it next time.
• Compass and motion sensors. Used live on your phone to show which way it points and how it is tilted. Nothing is recorded.
• Your choices (selected satellite, language) are stored only on your phone.

We do not have a server for this app and we never receive any of this data. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Google Maps

The map in the app is provided by Google Maps. To show it, your phone requests map images of the area around the position in the app directly from Google, which receives that request together with technical information such as your IP address and device type. According to Google, the Maps SDK also collects a pseudonymous identifier, crash diagnostics and how you pan and zoom the map, to maintain and improve its services. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The rest of the app works without the map.

What we do not do

• No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
• No analytics, tracking or profiling.
• No sale or sharing of personal data.
• No access to your contacts, photos, files, microphone or camera.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, for example when a feature is added, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date above will change.
